The Firm

Hunnewell Partners is a private equity group based in Georgia, with offices in London, Luxembourg, Jersey and the Netherlands.

Since its foundation in 2011, senior members of Hunnewell Partners have successfully managed and exited funds holding stakes in some of the most high-profile companies, including regulated and listed businesses, in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, and the USA.

Our expertise includes bottled water, banking, steel, cement and telecoms.

We have created the largest and most successful water company in Eastern Europe, exited two major banks including one of the few systemic banks in Georgia, and built Rustavi Steel into the largest seamless pipe producer in the region. We have also partnered with HeidelbergCement, one of the largest cement producers in the world, and hold an interest in MagtiCom, the country's largest telecoms company.

Irakli Rukhadze

Founding Partner

US citizen and native of Georgia. Irakli has over 30 years of involvement in the private equity industry as an investor, manager and advisor. He has managed assets in the US, Western and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, and investors have included Ultra High Net Worth individuals, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), AT&T Pension Trust and General Motors Pension Fund among others. Irakli began his career at McKinsey & Company and holds an MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Founding Partner

British citizen and a London-based lawyer, formerly with Allen & Overy and Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Ben was General Counsel with a family office for several years before setting up Hunnewell Partners with Irakli and Igor in 2011.

Founding Partner

US citizen with a career spanning McKinsey, Bankers Trust and Bank of America. Former CEO of a US$1bn specialty metals company and a US$150m mining enterprise in Georgia.
