A national network
MagtiCom is Georgia’s largest mobile operator and, since its expansion into fixed services, the country’s first full-service telecommunications company. The network spans 2G through 5G and covers virtually the entire populated territory of Georgia – the widest footprint of any operator.
The business serves more than three million customers through 53 customer-care offices and 85 community-centre outlets, and is a leader across every segment in which it operates: mobile, fibre internet, cable TV, fixed telephony and MagtiSat – the first satellite broadcaster in Georgia and the South Caucasus.
Hunnewell's role
Irakli Rukhadze is a member of MagtiCom’s board, and Hunnewell Partners manages a minority interest in the company on behalf of its investors.
The firm’s involvement reflects a long-standing conviction that critical national infrastructure – in this case a telecommunications backbone reaching almost every Georgian household – rewards patient capital and continuity of ownership.
In the community
MagtiCom’s Magti Education programme has partnered with the Kings Olympiad since 2019, engaging more than 100,000 children, and – with the Ministry of Education – provides discounted 20GB student internet packages nationwide.
The company also runs Neostudio, an annual photography competition that has drawn around 7,000 entrants.
